Activity Overview


On July 12, 2025, RAFIO had the honor of organizing the official launch of a project focused on maternal mental health, pregnancy, and postpartum depression among Black and Francophone immigrant women in Ontario.

The purpose of this project is to raise awareness, provide information, and break the taboos surrounding perinatal mental health while highlighting the realities experienced by immigrant women throughout their motherhood journey.

The event took place in a warm, respectful, and collaborative atmosphere. Participants demonstrated strong interest and active engagement throughout the discussions and activities.


Activities Conducted


Several activities and moments of exchange marked this gathering, including:

  • The official launch of the project;

  • Presentations on issues related to maternal mental health;

  • Discussions among participants, partners, and community workers;

  • Conversations about the beliefs, realities, and needs of immigrant women;
